Point101 is a proud member of the Fine Art Trade Guild which was formed in 1910 and regulates the quality and service of the fine art trade.

It is the successor to the Printsellers' association, which had been set up in 1847 to preserve the integrity of the limited edition print against unscrupulous traders.

All our prints have an estimated archival rating greater than 75 years and the lonevity of every giclée we produce is further increased with a UV protective clear varnish.

Point101 use the highest quality contemporary frames to complement artwork; all frames are delivered ready to hang in a laquered wood, natural or aluminium finish. High resolution canvas cloth is also available.

Our mounts are white core and 100% acid free, expertly cut to your requirements. All prints are signed on the back with an attached archival paper, developed to the requirements of the Dutch National Archive and signed with lightfast pigment liners.

what is Giclée?
The precursor to Giclée was explored by the Iris Graphics Company, a manufacturer of inkjet printers. While Graham Nash (of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young) pioneered the technology after coming across the IRIS graphics printer. Since the early 90's the media, inks and printing technology has advanced boundlessly and now culminates to produce images faithful to an artist's original conception.

Giclée (pronounced zhee-clay) is an advanced printmaking process for creating stunning fine art reproductions and especially limited editions. The attainable quality that Giclée printmaking affords means that it is now widely accepted by more traditional galleries, museums and private collectors. A Giclée print derives its quality from its seemingly “dotless” imaging technology; produces incredible detail, crisp contrast and brilliant colour.

Under normal lighting conditions, our archival-grade Giclée prints have an archival rating of 75 years+. This is based on independent research and testing by a number of organisations such as the Wilhelm Imaging Research Center. You can extend the life expectancy of a print by keeping it out of direct sunlight or rooms with excessive moisture; look after them and they will reward you with many years of pleasure.
